Professional History
Liz is obtained her Master's degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University while managing game, web and interactive projects under her Undead Pixel Studios. Though she has worked with various well-known companies in various capacities and industries in the past, during high school she began working for Ticketmaster as a sales representative. Soon she took on the position of trainer and manager of a small group of representatives supporting DBS satellite service on AS/400 systems.
From there she moved onto technical support at Teletech. Doing Tier 1 support for Dial-up and ISDN internet services for GTE Internetworking, she involved herself deeply into the growing technology sector. During her time at Teletech she worked her way to becoming a Team Lead over the late night Tier 2 support group consisting of 10 - 15 representatives before the Internetworking group was moved cross-country.
From there she started contracting and did a stint in the ranks of Big Blue (IBM) as a support representative on their largest project before moving onto something more interactive. She started a contract with E-Trinsic where she delved more professionally into her hobby of web site design and development.
Having self taught herself HTML, Javascript and DHTML she brought a great amount of knowledge to E-Trinsic for their client's websites and learned much in her time working there. E-Trinsic was forming itself to become a force in the medical industry by creating interactive training media, so Liz had some hands on access to some of the first 3D scanners, Motion Capture systems and 3D printers.
When the Dot Com bubble burst, so did E-Trinsic and it gave Liz an opportunity to think about where she wanted to go. Having worked with a little Java in her time at E-Trinsic and seeing the amount of business to be made in web development, she created a contract servicing partnership called ntHour specializing in web development, networking and IT support services.
During this time Liz completed an Associate's of Science in Computer Programming at Westwood to help in pursuing her dream of working in video games. She also had two notable projects, Adaptec and Pelion Systems. Over at Adaptec she was brought in to help clean up a website of over 1000 pages so that it could be converted into Broadvision. At Pelion Systems she expanded her knowledge into B2B marketing, UI development in Visual Basic, and project creation and management as well as handling some of their web administration needs.
In early 2002, Liz decided to go back to technical support for stability and to have the ability to work on more creative ventures in her off time. She worked her daytime hours at Finali with clients such as Buy.com, USA.NET and OnCommand, becoming the QA and weekend shift manager managing a team of 5 - 10 representatives. During her off hours Liz was researching game development, creating quirky Flash animations and writing short stories until she finally decided to get a more focused education in game development.
Liz had taken many years to research which school would be best for her, looking at CS degrees in four-year universities, technical colleges with Bachelor's degrees and focused game development programs. She chose Full Sail for its atmosphere and hands-on education approach. The idea of creating two full game projects in two years with a team seems like the best hands on experience one can get.
Her time at Full Sail was fruitful; her first game project, Full Sail: Laptop Crusade, was a parody of life at Full Sail created in two months from Pre-pro to Gold. She took on the role of Project Lead, managing the game development as well as participating in it. The second game project, Dungeon of Glory, was a tip of the hat to Diablo, created from design to Gold in five months with a team of over 45 individuals. She took up the title of Project Lead again, managing and scheduling the project using agile methodologies.
She had a hand in other projects at the end of her degree program at Full Sail before getting to where she is today. From creating tools for Zeitgeist Games and working on the design and production of a martial arts game for I.R.ON. Ventures. In 2007, she returned to Colorado to work in the financial services sector for a deeper education in the finances for entertainment businesses.
